…It was my reason for starting Pilates 12 years ago, and is one of the key reasons for many of my clients getting in touch for private sessions- LOW BACK PAIN.
The causes of low back pain can be varied, and chronic episodes should always be checked out by a medical professional,
HOWEVER, in so many cases the right exercises, practised consistently and in the right order, can restore healthy movement. My clients are often surprised, and delighted, at just how quickly that can happen!
I’ve worked with two ladies recently, both were experiencing back spasms and relying on pain killers to get through the day and to get to sleep at night. It had been going on for numerous months.
After an initial assessment , they learned a sequence of pilates and biomechanics moves to practise daily. (I record personalised videos for all my clients, to make home practise easier and safer.)
Within 10 days, they started to feel improvements. Six weeks on and both are now moving freely again without painkillers and returning to the activities they enjoy.
For those of us who’ve suffered long term back pain , we know the pleasure and freedom that returns to life as a result of easier, pain free, physical movement.
