So often I hear new clients over 50 say that their hip/knee/back pain is just down to ‘getting older’ or sometimes that’s the diagnosis offered to them by a medical practitioner.
There’s no doubt that the body does undergo wear and tear as we age, but our biomechanics, posture and movement patterns play a huge part in how rapidly that wear and tear occurs.
The good news is that unlike ageing, there is something we can do about muscle imbalances which starts with learning corrective exercises, which I’ve been sharing with clients over the past 14 years.
A 121 biomechanics assessment includes testing of major muscle groups, joint ranges of motion, balance and spine mobility. By the end of the session, clients have a clearer picture of any muscle imbalances and learn how to start correcting them for better alignment and freedom of movement.
